Animating Tōku Waiata

For my final project of my masters degree, I chose to tell the story of Star, an advocacy falcon at Wingspan Birds of Prey Centre in Rotorua, New Zealand. I wanted to tell the story through film to the practice skills I had learnt so far in my degree, but I also wanted to try something new. Something I had always been tempted to try, but never had the chance to do so. Stop-motion animation, using flat-paper cut models.
